Project / Trenchless Technologist

Position Summary

This is a junior position which is primarily office-based but will require occasional travel to our construction sites. Typical work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 – 17:00, 40hours per week.

The primary role of the Project/Trenchless Technologist is to support Senior Design Engineers, Project Managers and Construction Personnel to ensure the timely and efficient execution of engineering and design work, while adhering to the utmost quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Typical duties and activities performed by the Project/Trenchless Technologist may include:

  • Produce, review, revise and submit technical drawings, calculations and reports for project work
  • Utilize leading trenchless engineering practice to complete projects with support from senior staff
  • Receive and coordinate project documentation, HSEQ requirements, subcontractor submittals
  • Participate in project and construction meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes
  • Interface with various project personnel and perform project duties as assigned
  • Provide innovative engineering solutions to meet our clients’ needs
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of company standards, methods, policies, procedures

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will posses the following training, qualifications and attributes:

  • Post-secondary education in Civil/Mechanical/Pipeline/Construction/DesignTechnology. Able to register with ASET or equivalent. Other relevant education may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Trenchless Pipeline industry and interest in construction considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and working capability of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Solid works, MSOffice suite considered an asset.
  • Professional proficiency in both verbal and written English communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems through analytical thinking, work well under pressure, pay attention to detail, accustomed to accelerated timelines and tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with positive attitude willing to perform a variety of tasks in a team environment.
